One of 5 full-sized illustrations for the book of Dreyrull. This will open the Aershaa section. And yes, once again, reused lines at commissioners' permission so that schoolwork and their projects could be done at the same time. This time I modified the linework, though.

I figured this was fitting. Most of the Aershaa race is constantly at war for one reason or the next, and I hadn't otherwise illustrqated hatred of the banebloods in this section. So, featured are a maneless dark and a stone-air baneblood, tussling over whatever religious or pissyfit reason they happen to have found. Likely territorial.

I've honestly never done an illustration with this much detail in colored pencil, so it was an immense challenge to pull this off. I'm aware of a lot of flaws - I'm looking for tips on clarity of landscape, and perhaps a better approach with water. I used a great deal of blacks, greys, and browns, more like what would be found in nature, and only emphasized light with blue. I'm not sure how well that worked, but overall I like the result. I'm sure I'll improve more as the semester goes on.

Crappy pencils are crappy. =\ Had to use rosearts for the greater portion of this because I was peeved at my derwent's limited 12-color selection. I'll be getting more next week or the week after, depending on delivery speed.
